August 8, 2020Each August, the “Two Lake Town” of Onekama bustles with a variety of activities for the annual Onekama Days. Onekama is located in the northern part of Manistee County, about 20 minutes north of Manistee on M-22. Highlights of the festival include fireworks, arts/crafts show, pig roast, community yard sales, classic car show, 1 mile & 5k runs, tennis tournament, dance party, demolition derby and parade. Activities take place at the Manistee County Fairgrounds and in Onekama Village Park.
This year, 2020, has brought about the cancellation of several of the usual activities and events due to health and safety concerns resulting from the Covid-19 virus. The Parade for 2020 has been canceled. The Fireworks are still scheduled. Decisions on several of the other events are pending. Updates for 2020 will be listed as they become available. The activities have been re-named Onekama Days Lite Events
